Huge celebrations in Kathmandu for 9 Nepalis who summited the 14 Peaks.

Hundreds of well-wishers packed Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu to welcome back nine Nepali mountaineers who all completed their 14 Peaks missions.

Each climber has summited all 14 of the world’s highest peaks – an incredible achievement.

Horns sounded and crowds with banners cheered as the nine heroes arrived back home in Kathmandu, Nepal on Monday October 14th.

The nine are:

1. Nirmal ‘Nims’ Purja (Fastest without supplemental oxygen - 14 Peaks Summit, 50 summits of 8000m mountains.)

2. Tejan Gurung, TJ, (First person from Gurung Community to complete 14 Peaks)

3. Pasang Tendi Sherpa (Completed 14 Peaks)

4. Mingma Gyalje Sherpa (Completed 14 Peaks without supplement 02)

5. Dawa Gyalje Sherpa (14 Peaks Summit)

6. Dawa Yangzum Sherpa (First Nepali Female to Complete 14 Peaks)

7. Nima Rinji Sherpa (Youngest Person to Complete 14 Peaks)

8. Pasang Nurbu Sherpa (Completed 14 Peaks)

9. Mingtemba Sherpa (Completed 14 Peaks)
